Christmas Season is just around the corner. Filipinos from all over the world are preparing to send their Christmas gifts this soon to make it to the Philippines in time for the holidays. Here’s the Top 5 Reasons Why Balikbayan Boxes for your loved ones must be sent early.

It is said that there are over 2.2M documented Filipinos working overseas. And very “Filipino”, is the practice of bringing pasalubong, giving gifts and always remembering loved ones wherever we may be. We also have the longest Christmas Holiday season in the world. Beginning when the calendar hits the “ber” months, this is the busiest time for the cargo forwarding business.

We, your friends from Metrobox Cargo are always happy to bring joy to your family and friends back home. Here are the TOP 5 reasons why balkibayan boxes for your loved ones should be sent early:

1.

2. Due to seasonality, sending of balikbayan boxes peak around this time of year. You don’t want to get caught in the rush. You want to make sure that pick-up of boxes from your homes are scheduled. Or that there are no long lines in our conveniently located drop-off points.
4. Be mindful that there is a transient time as the cargo travels by sea. We are so used to online shopping arriving in practically no time that we forget that sending balikbayan boxes takes a lot longer. You need to give around 2 months allowance at the very least if you want your gifts to arrive before the Noche Buena.
5. Packing is time consuming. You will most likely want to maximize the space. Since sending balikbayan boxes is by volume, weight does not matter. Toiletries need to be secured so that they won’t break, spill and contaminate other goods, especially food items.
6. Stress-free Christmas preparations. For the busy OFW, you want to enjoy the entire process of buying items fit specifically for the different members of the family. But if you have to rush and worry about getting the balikbayan box to the Philippines on time, it takes the fun out of the entire thing.
7. Lastly, there is this issue concerning volume when it reaches the Philippines. We want to make sure that even if there are possible delays when it reaches the Port of Manila, you will still have ample time for our Manila office to pick up from the port and deliver to your intended recipients.

CONCLUSION
